Privacy & Terms of Use

Ashland New Plays Festival (ANPF) has created this privacy policy in order to demonstrate its commitment to the privacy of its members, volunteers, ticket buyers, playwrights, casts and all others involved with ANPF and who provide ANPF with any personal information. The policy discloses what information we collect, how we use that information, when we share that information, and how people can change their personal information.

1. ANPF’s Collection and Use of Personal Information

1.1. Personally Identifiable Information

ANPF collects contact information that is provided to us by members, ticket buyers, volunteers, playwrights, production personnel, vendors, and others who voluntarily provide us with their contact information such as persons requesting to receive newsletters and other information about ANPF’s events and operations. The information is collected either through our website or via mail. This information typically includes names, addresses, emails, and/or telephone numbers. ANPF does not collect or store any financial information from any persons, such as bank account numbers or credit/debit card information, except for the monetary value of donations and/or membership contributions. ANPF uses this information to keep track of memberships and member benefits, to inform interested persons about upcoming activities and events, and to respond to questions from the contact form.

For employees and vendors, ANPF collects the tax information required by the Internal Revenue Service and shares that information only with our payroll service and with the IRS. Names of some major donors may be required by the IRS in our tax filings.

ANPF does not use “cookies” or similar technologies to identify a person’s browser or device when visiting our website.

1.2 Demographic Information

ANPF collects demographic data, such as gender, age, postal code, and use of Ashland businesses, when a person provides this information to us voluntarily in response to an online or paper survey. That data is never identified with a particular user, but may be used in the aggregate and shared with grant-funding organizations who request such data.

ANPF collects demographic data, such as gender, age, and race, when a person provides this information to us in response to our survey attached to playwright script submissions. This information is voluntary and is not presented to the ANPF readers with the submitted play. The information is used by ANPF staff to track statistics and help ensure the organization is meeting stated goals for supporting diverse and authentic voices.

2. ANPF’s Sharing of Personal Information

ANPF may share personal contact information with third party service providers not affiliated with ANPF who help us operate our website or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending surveys or order fulfillment, and their use of that information is limited to that purpose. With that exception and the other exceptions in the above policy, ANPF does not share a person’s personal information with third parties without the consent of that person.

3. Security

Our website has security measures in place to protect against the misuse or loss of information. ANPF does not store personally identifiable information on the ANPF website. That information is stored on a customer management relations software system that has security measures to protect from breaches and is password protected.

4. Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, the data shown in the comments form is collected as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.
