Donna Simone Johnson

Co-Artistic Director of Watts Village Theater Company, Donna Simone Johnson is a Los Angeles-based actor, director, and choreographer.

Select credits include Power of Sail (Geffen Playhouse); Broken Fences (NAACP Award Winner, Best Lead Actress, Road Theatre); I Go Somewhere Else and A Hit Dog Will Holler (Playwrights Arena); Bring Down The House/Henry VI (Oregon Shakespeare Festival); Bloodbound (The Guthrie); The Cherry Orchard (Theatricum Botanicum) as well as work at ACT, Royal George, Ugandan National Theater, The Public, La MaMa ETC, Actors Theater of Louisville, Antaeus, Shakespeare Center LA, and many others.

TV credits include Netflix’s SuperDrags (recurring), Dreamland (Amazon), The Inspectors (CBS), 911 (FOX), Teachers (NBC), and this fall, Bertie The Brilliant on HBOMax.

She holds an MA from NYU, an MFA in Acting from CalArts, and a lot of gratitude.
