Did you catch last week’s conversation with Natalie Symons and Rachel Crowl? It was a fantastic dive into many topics including Natalie’s play NAMING TRUE. This week we are excited to offer you free access to this play, featuring beautiful performances by Christiana Clark and Rachel Crowl, with stage directions read by Ira Brady Rubin.
In NAMING TRUE, we meet Amy, a transgender teenage girl who shows up unannounced in the Florida motel room of Nell, a dying woman who’s lived much of her life on the streets of Detroit and now wishes to self-publish her childhood memoir. Over the next 24 hours, what unfolds is an intimate tale of survival, redemption, and the deep human desire to share our stories.
Natalie Symons is a playwright, actress and novelist based in St Petersburg, FL. She is currently the Playwright-in-Residence at American Stage where she is developing her play THE PEOPLE DOWNSTAIRS, which will have its world premiere there in March 2020. She is also the author of the upcoming novel “Lies In Bone,” a literary mystery set in a forgotten steel town in Pennsylvania. Her recent regional acting credits include REBORNING (Urbanite Theatre) and LAST OF THE RED HOT LOVERS (Stageworks), among others.
