Play4Keeps Podcast | Free full play: AND VASTER by Skye Robinson Hillis, pt 1

Did you catch last week’s conversation with Skye Robinson Hillis and Don Zolidis? This week we are excited to offer you free access to Skye’s ANPF 2015 winning play AND VASTER, featuring performances by David Kelly, Rachel Kostrna, Tamra Mathias, Terri McMahon, Meghan Nealon, and John Pribyl. Terri and David are reprising their roles from when they performed them together at ANPF’s Fall Festival.

In AND VASTER, we meet married actors Michael and Corinne, who have stood by their decision to focus on their respective careers and each other, and to not have children. When Michael is suddenly confronted with a heretofore-unknown seventeen-year-old daughter begotten from a long-ago one-night stand, their years of meticulous planning are rendered useless. They must revisit the decision they made and figure out how to assimilate a nearly grown-up child into their kid-free family dynamic, without losing each other in the process.

Skye Robinson Hillis is a playwright, director, and dramaturg based in Chicago. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Playwriting at Ohio University on a full scholarship. Skye is a two time semi-finalist for the Princess Grace Award, and her work has been seen at Creede Repertory, The Route 66 Theatre Company, Chicago Dramatists, and more. Her play And Vaster was awarded a residency at the New Works Lab at Stratford in 2015; winner of the 2015 Ashland New Plays Festival; and winner of the Holland New Voices Award at the Great Plains Theatre Conference. And Vaster was also recently named a semi-finalist for the Princess Grace Award.
